AVERAGE RENT PREMIUMS FOR APARTMENT FEATURES, BY METROPOLITAN AREA When responses from all metropolitan areas are considered together, floor-to-ceiling windows, bedroom balconies, living room balconies, hardwood-like floors, additional soundproofing, and premium washers and dryers received the largest average rent premiums. These items are in the top third of features in terms of average rent premiums in most metropolitan areas. The range in average rent premiums across metropolitan areas was greatest for floor-to-ceiling windows, concrete floors, living room balconies, and bedroom balconies.
